P3 Version 1.0: Final Results and a Promising Future
On February 1st, 2025, OSO (Omeed Social Organisation) launched an ambitious initiative with a bold vision: to reduce the cost of living for vulnerable families in Parachinar while strengthening the local economy. This initiative, known as the Purchasing Power Program (P3), was not just a test of concept—it was a test of trust, transparency, and community collaboration.
After two full months of real-world application, the results of P3 Version 1.0 are in. And they are more than promising.
A Pilot That Exceeded Expectations
- 11 Beneficiary Members Registered (exceeding the target of 10)
- 14,322 Rs in Total Discounts Provided to beneficiary members
- 1 Fully Engaged Partner Store — Kefayat General Store
- 4 Regular Members Joined, supporting the system by shopping locally
- 1,500 Rs Contributed Back to OSO by the partner store
This was not just a symbolic achievement. These numbers demonstrate that the OSO model—based on self-sustaining economic circulation rather than donations—is working in practice.
Why It Matters: More Than Just Numbers
At its heart, P3 is designed to solve two major problems:
- Reducing Financial Pressure on Vulnerable Families: By offering structured discounts at partner stores, beneficiaries are able to save on daily essentials in a predictable and dignified way.
- Strengthening Local Businesses: Rather than depending on external funding or sporadic donations, OSO forms strategic partnerships with local shops. These businesses benefit from loyal customers, increased visibility, and participation in a larger community mission.
With just one store and a small group of early members, the pilot demonstrated that meaningful impact can be achieved when the right system is in place.
Transparency in Action
- Transparent: Every discount is tracked and recorded.
- Traceable: No cash handling ensures all transactions are documented.
- Trustworthy: Regular feedback, fieldwork, and community communication ensure accountability at every level.
This foundation of trust and structure sets OSO apart from traditional aid models that often suffer from inefficiency, unpredictability, or even corruption.
The People Behind the Success
One of the unsung heroes of P3 Version 1.0 is Danish, whose on-the-ground fieldwork was instrumental in registering members, explaining the system to shopkeepers, and ensuring smooth operations.
Community engagement was equally critical. The willingness of local families to participate, share feedback, and believe in a new model of support laid the groundwork for a movement that is now gaining momentum.
From Program to Movement
What began as a pilot is now evolving into something much bigger. The energy, belief, and early success of P3 Version 1.0 have created a sense of shared ownership. People aren’t just recipients or participants—they are partners in building a cleaner, fairer, and more sustainable local economy.
What’s Next: P3 Version 1.1
Based on the results and lessons of Version 1.0, OSO is proud to announce that P3 Version 1.1 will launch in April 2025.
Planned updates include:
- New Partner Shops: Expanding the network of local stores to increase convenience and coverage.
- Improved Tracking Tools: Enhancing digital systems for real-time tracking and transparency.
- Member Growth Campaign: A stronger push to onboard more regular and beneficiary members.
With Version 1.1, the goal is not just to grow in numbers but to solidify the culture of fairness and collaboration that P3 represents.
